Ten Top Tips to Stress-Free Travelling Back
24 Jul 2008
Ten Top Tips to Stress-Free Travelling Whether you’re flying for business or pleasure, there’s absolutely no reason why any part of your journey should be at all stressful. We’ve got some pointers to make even the longest-haul flight a breeze… and have you feeling fresh from take-off to touchdown.

1. Get Organized
Sounds simple, but you’d be surprised how far a little organisation can go. A travel wallet is an essential companion – all your most important documents will be at hand and impeccably presented. If you have a conference to attend, few things are more useful than a card case for all those ubiquitous business cards. Avoid embarrassing fumbling or rummaging around… you’re one step ahead of the rest.

We recommend: leather travel wallet, geneva cardcase

2. Keep Stylish
Whatever you do, make sure you do with it with style. Few things beat the confidence of knowing you look great as you cross the continents. Whether you choose to invest in modern toiletry bags to timelessly sophisticated Italian leather accessories, you’ll find many ways to keep your cool wherever you go. Nothing says upgrade like effortless style…

We recommend: mister uchi hanger bath bag, mister uchi shaver bag, Italian leather portfolio, Italian leather satchel

3. Treat Yourself
Air cuisine is improving these days, but for some of us, not fast enough! There’s no real need to endure any suspect offerings, especially if you bring some of your favourite treats and snacks. As long as they’re properly sealed, you’ll have no problems getting them through customs.

We recommend: chocolate and grand marnier cake

4. Remain Hydrated
It can be tempting to fill up on the complimentary booze, but make sure you ask for a glass of water with every top-up. The airplane’s environment is particularly dehydrating which accelerates that awful hangover sensation! It’s also worth investing in some moisturiser for your face and hands – you can re-apply in the loos and no one will be any wiser!

We recommend: bergamot and amber giftbox, organic handcare box

5. Stay Healthy
All that altitude and cabin pressure can be a shock to the system. If you are prone to attracting everyone else’s germs, we recommend that you keep some all natural English remedies on hand for any problems you may encounter during and after the flight. After all, you don’t want to spend your trip abroad battling a common cold!

We recommend: traditional English remedies giftbox

6. Switch Off
You might feel like you’re too busy to stow away that laptop, but really, just put it away (in style!). Whether you are on the plane for a few hours or overnight, you should take this rare opportunity to totally switch off. Think about it. You have a complete reprieve from phone calls and emails… amazing! So open that book you’ve been waiting to read, check out one of the films on offer or maybe just close your eyes… and forget about work, at least until you land.

We recommend: Italian leather portfolio

7. Kick Back (maybe we should get a luxury travel pillow?)
Kicking back and resting up is the real secret to feeling fantastic throughout your flight. We recommend you put in some ear plugs or use sound-cancelling headphones, along with an eye-mask, to ensure total peace and calm. Also consider in investing in a luxury travel pillow, to avoid the dreaded neckache! Screaming children won’t be able to penetrate your blissful oasis…

8. Freshen Up
There’s always a certain rush hour just before the plane touches down. It’s usually the hour before the plane descends. So stay ahead of the crowds and freshen up and smarten up a good few hours before you land. You’ll be able to enjoy the aerial views as everyone else is busting for the loo…

We recommend: grooming kit, gentlemans manicure set

9. Home and Away…

It’s funny how going away can immediately make you miss the simple things back home! With a few personal touches, you’ll be able to make the most of any trip. A city clock will help you keep track of the different time zones you have to deal with – great for phone calls back home. Luxury toiletries and aromatic oils will instantly transform any bathroom into a spa. And it might sound cheesy, but you’d be amazed at how a few favourite photos will bring warmth to even the most clinical of hotel rooms.

We recommend: city clock, organic gentlemen’s nightbox, black cube oil burner, naughty weekender kit, la clique photoframe

10. Make it a Trip to Remember!
If you’re lucky enough to have a travel buddy or to be visiting a special friend, perhaps you’d like to surprise them with some romantic naughtiness and sensual delights? This is our one Number One tip for a totally unforgettable trip… Bon Voyage!

We recommend: romantic naughty weekender kit, earthly pleasures box
