What Is A Dad?
A dad is someone who wants to catch you before you fall but instead picks you up, brushes you off, and lets you try again.
A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt.
A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail.
A Father Just Like You
I just want you to know you mean the world to me, Only a heart as dear as yours would give so unselfishly.
The many things you've done, all the times that you were there, helps me know deep inside how much you really care.
Even though I might not say, I appreciate all you do, Richly blessed is how we feel having a father just like you.
Father Is A Source of Strength
A father is a source of strength, A teacher and a guide, The one his family looks up to With loving trust and pride... A father is a helper With a willing hand to lend, A partner, an adviser, And the finest kind of friend
Dad, Thank You
Thank you for the laughter, For the good times that we share, Thanks for always listening, For trying to be fair.
Thank you for your comfort, When things are going bad, Thank you for the shoulder, To cry on when I'm sad.
This poem is a reminder that All my life through, I'll be thanking Heaven For a Special Dad like you."
Fathers Are Wonderful People
Fathers are wonderful people, too little understood, And we do not sing their praises as often as we should,
For Father struggles daily to live up to his image As protector and provider and hero of the scrimmage,
And perhaps that is the reason we sometimes get the notion That fathers are not subject to the thing we call emotion.
But if you look inside Dad's heart, where no one else can see, You'll find he's sentimental and soft as he can be.
Fathers are just wonderful in a million different ways, And they merit loving compliments and accolades of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires to fortune and success Is to make the family proud of him and bring them happiness,
And like our heavenly Father, he's a guardian and a guide, Someone we can count on to be always on our side.
My Handprints
My dirty little hand print I've left on every wall And on the drawers and table tops I've really marked them all. But here is one that won't rub off, I'm giving it to you... Do you know why?? Well, I'm so thankful to have a father like you.
A Tough Job
Pull up your pants. Comb your hair. Brush your teeth. Don't you stare.. Mind your manners. Do your homework. Don't stay up too long. Take out the trash. Rake the leaves. Cut the grass. Don't play too rough.
Blimey being a dad sure is tough!
