Female delegates and observers at a recent event in New Zealand were handed some colourful and unusual gifts, it has been revealed.
According to report in the Marlborough Express, the lucky women were given unique offerings of hand-made bags, complete with personalised scarves and pampering products.
The presents, which took months to prepare, were handed out during the South Island Maori Women's Welfare League conference.
"We do it to show the women how much we love them and to keep our traditional skills going," stated Keri Rowe, president of the organisation's Waitohi branch.
In another gift-giving extravaganza, South Korean president Lee Myung-bak is set to hand over 5,000 to a selection of his countrymen ahead of upcoming national holidays, KBS reported.
According to a statement made by his office, the items on offer will consist of a range of products which originate from different regions within the country.
