A community from the Australian area of Karuah in New South Wales has been involved in a generous gift-giving initiative, it has been revealed.
Members of the Our Lady of the Rosary Church have been filling shoeboxes with presents to send to children in developing countries, the Myall Coast Nota reports.
Items such as hair care products, toys, soap and clothes are among the goods making their way across the world.
"What started as doing something for others has resulted in a rich, community building experience which we hope will be an annual event," stated Rose Smith, the organiser of the scheme.
The boxes will be delivered to youngsters living in poverty.
A recipient of a similar shoebox gift scheme recently expressed his gratitude to those involved by writing to thank them.
Paratrooper Neil Smith was one of a number of troops who was sent a parcel containing a variety of treats by a UK bakery, the Essex Echo reported.
