A generous couple from the UK recently requested a rather unusual wedding present.
Setting aside consideration of household goods and more traditional wedding gifts, Nathalie and Gareth Allexant-Rowland asked guests to make donations towards creating a school in Africa, the Salisbury Journal reports.
The pair informed guests they would like money to be handed to the Tesfa Foundation, which helps to create educational institutions in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.
Newly-wed Natalie stated: "The aim is to raise £5,000, that's the start up money for a brand new school for three to eight-year-olds in Mercato - an area in Addis Ababa that is particularly deprived."
In other charitable gift-giving news, a community from the Australian area of Karuah in New South Wales were recently involved in an initiative to send shoeboxes filled with presents to children in developing countries, the Myall Coast Nota reported.
